Marc Janowitz  has been in the entertainment industry for over 25 years, with a robust catalog of artists, bands, comedians and more with whom he has worked throughout those years. His path to becoming a lighting and production designer was, well - a direct path. When he was eleven years old, his keen technical and artistic ability led him to be enlisted to lead the production and lighting of his school play. The die was cast and the story’s end has not yet been told.

Scraped Knee originally was the name of a series of zines and comic books created by founder Matt Leunig and in 2006 eventually became the name of the overall studio. Early on, work consisted mostly of screenprinted gigposters for touring bands and comic books but has since grown into all fields of illustration. His work has appeared in numerous publications, video games, music videos, art galleries, etc..

He has graced the cover of Bass Musician Magazine, Bass Guitar Magazine/UK, three times, and has been featured in Bass Player Magazine, several more. He has hosted master classes at “Bass Player Live” in Los Angeles and New York and “The London Bass Guitar Show”. 


And along with these bass superpowers, Freekbass has a funk music pedigree that is authentic. He has worked alongside funk legends, Bootsy Collins (who gave him his nickname during a studio session) calling Freekbass “The New Spiritual Warrior for the Funk” and keyboard icon, Bernie Worrell, who guested on many of Freekbass’ albums and live projects.   He's shared the stage with Bootsy, Catfish Collins, Buckethead, Corey Glover, Umphery's McGee, Mike Gordon, and Dumpsta Phunk, to mention some highlights. And he's recorded/colaborated with so many talented artists, such as Stefan Lessard (DMB), Billy Sheehan, Mudbone Cooper, Doug Wimbish and Karina Rykman, to name a few.

Season One, Episode 12: "Feast Your Eyes On This!!! (Part 3)" wsg Justin Hampton

In the third part of the interview, Justin & Steiner discuss in further detail the formation of the power trio that is Post-Neo Explosionism (comprised of Justin and fellow rock-poster troubadours Emek & Jermaine Rogers), the widely-renowned PNE hallmark that is the "27 Club" print & what really happened when and how Todd Phillips reached out to him to do a poster for “The Hangover”! 


Justin Hampton is a renowned artist known for powerful and resonant artwork since 1990. He emerged as a freelance illustrator in Seattle under Art Chantry's direction at The Rocket, a pivotal magazine during the Grunge era. With bold line work, sublime colors, and a vivid imagination, Hampton's unmistakable style has gained international attention. His work appears globally in galleries, clubs, and homes. Notably, he is featured in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the documentary "American Artifact" and in Seattle's MoPOP. Hampton has designed posters for Queens of the Stone Age, Metallica, NIN, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, and more. His art has also appeared in TV shows and films. Hampton's diverse clientele includes Rolling Stone, Lollapalooza, Dreamworks, and others. He is also acclaimed for his comic books and animated short film.
